Academic Convenor of CAWRI Dr Trisnasari Fraser talks to Craig Rogers, Head of Programs for The Push. They discuss The Push’s work as Australia’s national youth music organisation — widening access to live music for 12–25 year‑olds, barriers such as cost of living, regional isolation and age restrictions, and research from the Young Australian Music Audiences study. Craig also outlines mentoring and paid industry placements that help young people start music careers, shifts in representation and drinking patterns, the Push’s 10‑year national strategy for youth and music, and school‑based programs responding to social media changes.
Craig Rogers will be a keynote panelist at the CAWRI Conference 2026 Creating Wellbeing: Youth, Arts, and Mental Health, 10 April, Ian Potter Southbank Centre.
