Through their lenses: Creativity, wellbeing and women’s experiences of ageing

Presented by Lila Moosad

This study explores the experiences of 18 women who participated in the 500 Strong photography project. The project was part of the Flesh after Fifty series of exhibitions, events and conversations challenging ageing stereotypes and promoting diverse and celebratory images of women. The study identifies the intersecting factors that shape the ageing processes. It contests prevalent ageing narratives and proposes that creativity has an important role in the wellbeing of older women.
